The cottage was the perfect place for us to roam the region - Liverpool,a tour of John and Pauls houses to Morecambe Bay. We also visited Parlick and surrounding fells and had some wonderful meals at the Whitewell Inn and the Three Fishes. Were most impressed by the standard of local foods we bought in Farm shops - we ate a bit too much!!Finally the cottage had all we needed; it was very comfortable and we loved the solitude. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, all three cottages are beautiful. The views are sensational and really help you unwind and forget work. Thank you for the little "touches" especially the caramel shortbread!! I will be sure to come back and tell others.

Thank you for a wonderful stay and such a waram welcome. This is the best cottage we have stayed in by far. Everything has been thought of and it is so comfortable. Brook house certainly ticked all the boxes, Anne and Robert have been excellent hosts. As a keen fly fisherman the lake provided a real challenge - lots of weed! No problem - Robert produced a boat, oars, rope and much fun was had clearing a patch big enough to stlk fish. Success! Trout for supper! All in all a wonderful week in a beautiful location. Our first visit to Lancashire. Wonderful undiscovered area with excellent walking and scenery. The cottage is 5 star and we don't want to leave it. We will definitely spread the word about the cottage and location and hope to return one day. Many Thanks the Coopers and Wells.

Beautiful, comfortable cottage.Probably the best we've stayed in. 7 days not really long enough in this area. Nice local scenic villages - Downham and Bolton-by-Bowland. Good places for birds - Leighton Moss RSPB, Marshside RSPB, Martin Mere and Stocks Resevoir. Good local meal at Dog and Partridge near Chipping - about 5 miles. Weather was very showery, but not too bad. Look out for hares passing by the back door in the morning.

We've had a fabulous week. A mixture of visits from friends and family,exploring places around the Trough of Bowland with a bit of peace and quiet. The cottage has been very comfortable and of very high standard. Loved the thoughtful touches and we appreciated Ann and Roberts hospitality and cheery welcome. Beautiful setting. Thanks!

It was so good to be back, and we are so sorry to leave again, especially while today's a glorious windless day.
The girls love this place for preparing for their final exams, and we had again some beautiful walks in the countryside. The circular walk starting in Downham around Pendle Hill is absolutely a must see! Thanks for your caring and lovely cakes! We'll be back soon!

Brilliand place to stay, feels like home from the minute you arrive.Great surroundings and mostly fantastic weather! Excellent starting point for hikes in any direction. Thank you for offering such a remarkable place!

Everything about Brook House is perfect. The location is quiet but near to good amenities. Most importantly Brook House has all the home comforts anyone could wish for.We hope to come back before too long and will certainly tell all our friends to give it a try! Anne and Robert have certainly created a perfect holiday retreat.

11 and three quarters out of 10 on scale of one to ten. Excellent accommodation. High quality service, great host and hostess. Very, very child friendly and the location- well it's the place for all nature lovers. Local eating places "The Dog and Partridge", "Greenman" at Inglewhite, "Ferrarries" all to be recommended. To know and learn more about the area ask the experts Robert and Anne.

Nothing short of AMAZING! The facilities were amazing, the rooms were amazing, the scenery was amazing, so were Robert and Anne. The tour by Robert was fantastic! We would recommend it to anyone...5 star is the minimum this should be! The kids loved it all and loved the playroom!
Can't wait to come back! Will miss the peace and quiet so much!

We all had a lovely time celebrating Mums 80th - the accommodation was perfect - luxurious and comfortable. Fantastic facilities for the children - we loved the barn. Many thanks Ann and Robert for being so helpful and welcoming.

We have had a wonderful 3 days walking in beautiful countryside, exploring new territory and enjoying the luxury and comfort of Hre House. We even saw the hare! We clocked up a few miles walking and return to Manchester with aching feet and limbs, but ready to tell everyone all about this lovely setting and cottage. Thanks. ( or maybe we'll just keep it to ourselves ! )

Part of a group of 10 - used Garden Cottage too fantastic weekend had by all, beautiful countryside to explore and extremely comfortable cottages to relax in afterwards. Stone buildings have been superbly renovated - well done ! Great hospitality shown by owners. Hopefully we'll be back soon and this is definitely a place to recommend.
